When I was 18, I went on a trip to Taiwan and got eyelash extensions done and absolutely loved it! I woke up everyday feeling like I actually looked awake without the help of makeup – if only there was a permanent solution to this right? That excitement died however a couple of weeks later when my lashes started falling out one by one, and I vowed NEVER to get eyelash extensions again.
A couple of months ago I was walking around Orange County and saw a sign for eyelash extensions, and with much time to kill, decided to get them done again. I’m sure the technique has improved after all these years, I thought. Apparently not. Don’t get me wrong – they look absolutely amazing and natural – but for some damn reason when the glued on hairs fall out, my own eyelashes fall out with it! Does this happen to anyone else or is it just me? My natural lashes were already pretty sad and short, so having them fall out was pretty devastating.
Thankfully eyelashes do grow back (albeit a snails pace) so with a swipe of mascara and fake lashes, they look magazine perfect 😉
But I am never ever ever getting them again.
